Serving God and His People Since 1985
Racerunners began in 1985 as a small, home Bible study in Birmingham, AL. It has grown to touch countless lives across the nation and around the globe.
Through Bible studies, retreats, conferences and personal discipleship, Racerunners has shared a constant and consistent truth: God's love is always deeper than anything we face. Throughout its existence, we've received messages and testimonies from every state across the nation as well as 17 countries -- stories of healing, restoration, hope and salvation.
Founder: Debby Woods
Originally from Anniston, AL Debby obtained her BS from Jacksonville State University and her Masters form the University of Alabama. After taking a job in Birmingham, she began a small Bible study in her home that quickly grew. In 1985, in response to God's clear call on her life, she quit her job and co-founded Racerunners.
Debby's life was defined by a singular passion: loving God and loving people. She devoted her life to echoing and living by what her mentor, Corrie ten Boom said, "No pit is so deep that God's love is not deeper still." She taught local and area Bible studies for years, held conferences, retreats and prayer weekends and was booked at countless events nationwide throughout the tenure of her life. Her highest call, however, was spending one-on-one time with people; connecting them to God's unconditional love and helping them grow through whatever season of life they were walking through. She counted nothing greater or more important.
On November 14, 2024 Debby finished her race and the Lord called her home.
Originally from North Carolina and a graduate of Auburn University with a BS in Marketing, Laurie quit her job at Central Bank in 1992 to serve full-time at Racerunners. She is an ordained minister and has devoted more than 33 years to helping believers run their race with endurance through writing, worship, prayer and discipleship. She writes from her personal journey of faith with a passion to ignite personal revelation in others.
Laurie loves most anything outdoors, is an avid DIY-er and a former distance and marathon runner turned walker.
